Float Trip!!! This was sunday (I'm so behind getting this published)
We floated down Priest River, stopped and played at a friends beach, then Angie and I continued down the river a bit more.... OK, a bit? More like four more hours later it was dark, and we didn't know where we were supposed to get out of the water to find the car.
It was quite the adventure.... But I saw my first Moose! Very exciting, and well worth the long day on the river...

OK, it was supposed to be a mermaid, but she was tired of being in the sand.... or was it that she passed out... ????
Sadly, Renee (seen here) found her father Dead the next day.

MYSTIFYING MYSTIC LAKE

Well, if you read up on Monday's adventure... this is what I was looking for. This is Mystic Lake, set high up in the mountians, just a few miles from home. Hidden back in the trees, I drove right by it, until I cleared some trees, and there it was.... I couldn't wait to get a better view.
Imagine, pulling around the corner on an old dirt road, and seeing this. The mountains in the background are obscured by smoke from wildfires raging all over Washington, but I've mapped out some of what you're lookin at, from over the ridge... see below.
From atop the ridge, to my back is Mystic Lake, and this is the view in front. Anyone that visits MUST see this specatcular view.

Truth be known, I heard that this is the last place I would want to swim. Four Meth labs were found floating on the water here, before the authorities cold get to them, they were dumped in teh water... so the chemicals are probably still around... But that's also coming from my hypochondriac friend.... :-)

JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT

i WAS ASKED TO TAKE THESE FOR MY CO-WORKER. SO I THOUGHT I'D SHARE SOME

Monday Nights Great Adventure...

I climbed and Climbed and CLimbed.... all in search of Mystic Lake.... Which I never found....

'round about here was when I realized I was out of gas, and had to coast all the way back down the mountain.....

No one around for miles, it was enchanting...... what a place to get lost!!!

Now, on to another adventure... Monday, I went in search of a few lakes that lie beyond No Name Lake (from a previous post). I found Cooks Lake, Nestled in the hills, off of a winding logging road. The water was low, as are most bodies of water this time of year up here. As I walked down to the waters' edge THOUSANDS of baby frogs hopped towards the water.

OK, A TEST

How Many Frogs do you see in this picture?

Seven.... and all of thos lil eggs in the lower left corner.

CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF !!!

Alright, it's more like Cat on a hot Aluminum roof....
Last week, I came home to find Oliver had obviously climbed the screen door, hoisted himself up on to the roof, and could find a way back down.
Today, he's headed home to my co-workers house, where he'll have friends to play with, and the bear that's been up near the property can't get him.

Headed back to Republic, Saturday was a wonderful day for a drive.... This is the view climbing Flowery Trail... near the top, you'll find a popular ski resort, 49* North

The view from Dave's deck in Republic. Which is one of my favorite small towns that I've found in Washington.

This is the view from Sherman Pass, at dusk. The previous post has pictures of the destruction of the 1988 forest fire... This photo was taken near there....
My new favorite place.... just past Bead Lake, which is just a short few miles from home, is NO NAME LAKE. I've actually seen it, but thought it was part of Bead Lake. There are six open camping spots, with a short trial down to the lake. I spent Thursday and Friday there. The water is warm, and accross the lake, is a rope swing, where I spent a good hour playing Thursday night, without a soul around.

This is where I slept, in the hammock... It was wonderful, under the stars.....

Tony, Eric and friends, joined me...
And, for whatever reason... Here's home, been cleaning up, since i moved it closer to the well... started polishing it... a long, and arduous process....
