Leaving Mom's tonight, i encountered and almost ran into this big guy.... I've been waiting a long time to see a moose with a rack... What a beauty.!!!!

In reply to an email i sent out with these photos, My buddy Joe sent me this back, I HAD to share it....
Love me some moose! Used to have meese all the time in Norway. They would routinely scare the shit out of me and the dog on our walks down to the river. I even had a moose rider on my car insurance, since there are 2000 moose deaths a year on Norwegian roads. Important safety tip: if you are about to run up on a moose like that again and you're probably going to hit it, aim for its ass. Why? Because a moose will never back up or turn around; when startled it will only run straight ahead. You'll minimize damage by swerving toward where it is moving FROM.
Moose is delicious. Never turn down a gift of moose for the freezer. Or at least don't drive off from the carcass you just killed on the road, assuming your car isn't totaled...

XOXOX

TONIGHT.... Sat. May 19th.... amazing moon photos.

i am always trying to get a good shot of the moon. TOnight for some odd reason, my camera kept zooming and zooming, far beyond the point it should have, to let me take these pictures. The second, if you look when looked at under normal size and resolution, shows, clearly, the craters.... I'm so amazed by these pictures, which surely were an accident.

Taken in the Tri Cities at 9:00 in the evening on the above date.

Sunrise to Sunset

Running late to work this morning, I had to stop this morning to snap this picture.
Fog over the Pend Oreille River, 5:45 Thursday Morning

I took Dad up to No Name Lake, surprisingly it's still frozen!

I had planned on showing Mom and Dad the most beautiful place I've ever seen, overlooking Mystic Lake, but the road was still covered in snow and ice, so we stopped on the road by Marshall Lake, with wine, cheese and crackers, blankets and chairs..... it was a wonderful evening!!! The couple that runs the campground at Marshall Lake came along and spent the better part of an hour telling us about the history of the area....

As the sun set, and the moon came out, we packed up and headed home.
